The Showing Council has continually been available to its Members in order to provide help and support where necessary, at these very challenging and difficult times. It is of the utmost importance that we continue to work within the latest Government Guidelines and advice, concerning the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Council's Member Bodies are taking most seriously the responsibility to contribute towards the containment and control of COVID-19 and are taking all necessary steps to support the industry, as a matter of priority.
Social distancing, and limitations on non-essential travel and public gatherings have meant that most equestrian gatherings are stopped, at least until the April 18th. This will be reviewed in line with the latest Government Guidelines.
The Chairman of The Showing Council, Mr David Ingle said “Our equestrian family has worked tirelessly to implement the necessary changes needed with the sudden impact of COVID-19. The health and well-being of our population is the absolute priority and we must put this as at the forefront of everything we do now. The individual Association and Societies are making their own informed decisions so do please keep in touch with your relevant organisation to ensure you are as up to date as possible”. The Chairman went on to thank the BEF and the ASAO for their constant support and sharing of information, as this had proven to be invaluable to everyone at times when such hard decisions were necessary.
