Riders Minds is dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of everyone in the equestrian community with many online tools and a free confidential helpline accessible for all.
Over the last couple of months The Showing Council have been working alongside Riders Minds to raise awareness of the provision of this mental health support within the showing fraternity.
The Showing Council Chairman, David Ingle, said “As someone who has mental health high on his list of priorities, I am particularly glad to have been able to progress this highly important initiative – it is so important we recognise when we need support or help and even more important we have somewhere to go for that support.
We live in such difficult times and just because we can’t see someone is struggling it doesn’t mean they are ok. We should also be able to point someone in the right direction if they are in need and working with Riders Minds will help with that.”
A spokesperson from Riders Minds said, “We are delighted to be working alongside the Showing Council to raise both the awareness of mental health and the support that is available to all, through Riders Minds. In addition to the helpline, we are delighted to be able to offer members of the Showing Council Member Bodies access to free support groups. By speaking freely about mental health you can help spread the message that it is OK not to be OK and that there is support available if you need it.”
